One of the many ancient remains of Eritrea has been uncovered in Sembel. The site was discovered on the far right of the road leading to Asmara Airport as you enter a dirt track going uphill. The site overlooks the Asmara cemetery at the top.

Eritrean Railway - an Iconic Railway

The Eritrean Railway is the only railway system in Eritrea. It was constructed between 1887 and 1932 by the Kingdom of Italyfor the Italian Eritrea, colony and connected the port of Massawa with Bishia near the Sudan border.
